Wouldn’t any drink taste better in this fancy cup?

Hoping it eases the fact that today her diet is all liquids.
We are telling her the keto-cal drink is a milkshake. Im not sure she is buying it.?
Goodbye sweets…hello butter!

Finding Faith

May 16, 2011

The night before admission my pantry is still full of sugar and carbs. Probably a good sign that I am far from being ready for this week.

I am really trying hard not to be sad about the changes the ketogenic diet will bring to this household.

But, my heart knows that we are ready for this change. They will help us be a better family for Claire. She needs this to work! Today she had a hard day.

Too many seizures interrupting her life. Too many failed seizure medications interrupting our control. All to remind my faltering heart to have faith.

Remembering God’s got this, gives me the strength to face the next step of the sugar free world I am about to enter.

Good bye sweets…hello butter.

Can having a diet consisting of mostly butter really be the answer we’ve been looking for? We will soon find out. Monday we will be admitted to the hospital to start an adventure called the Ketogenic Diet.

Stay tuned for the upcoming trials and triumphs of a family chasing the dream of living a seizure free life style. Our daughter deserves the best life has to offer and we pray this will be one positive step in that direction. We are willing to give up the typical all American food fare in the fight for a seizure free life.

Good bye sweets…Hello butter!
